Best Workout Playlists To Sweat It Out!


What with all these lock-downs, curfews and partial curfews, let’s face it, we all have those slight bulge bellies now. Sagging triceps, larger waistlines, lost definition and so much more. And things don’t end there either. Most of us have lost the motivation to get up, get ready and show up for workouts too. We have lost that burning desire to work out once again.

But we have just the trick for you – workout songs.

Workout songs have the power to bring the gym magic back for you. Workout songs can get you back in the groove or rather back on the workout bandwagon. And if you find yourself just a bit out of the ‘popular workout songs’ loop, we’ve got you covered.

Here’s a great mix of Hindi and English workout songs for your playlist so you can get back into that gym and back on the road to ‘fit’. Music tastes vary but I am revealing this secret list from my current (and personal) gym playlist, so hope you love these.

  • Dance Monkey by Tones & I

Dance Monkey with its catchy lyrics and fast beats, is a great workout song for your treadmill playlist especially if you love interval runs.

  • So Gaya Yeh Jahan from Bypass Road

Not the fastest of numbers, but this beautifully rendered song is great for those heavy squats, or if you are doing medium-paced sets of anything with slightly heavy weights.

  • Cold Shoulder by Locnville & Sketchy Bongo

Have you heard this amazing song? I love it. Especially for quick-paced workouts like kettlebell swings and shoulder presses.

Do you hate burpees as much as I do? Well, expand that to compound exercises in general. One way of making those tough exercises easier is by making them quicker and being done with them. For that, I love this song. Oh, the beats!

Perfect for that rowing machine or even that walker, are the beats of this amazing song. Just put this workout song on your rowing playlist and watch 2 minutes 34 seconds go by in a jiffy.

  • Mummy Nu Pasand from Jai Mummy Di

And there are those dreaded leg days when you really need a Punjabi song to get your feet moving. Try jump squats, weighted farmer walks or even walking lunges on this song. Thank me later.

  • Titanium by David Guetta, featuring Sia

A favourite on my ‘core and abs’ workout songs playlist is Titanium. This song is a great amalgamation of beautiful lyrics, great beats and alternating soft and heavy beats.

Not exactly the newest track out there, but Aankh Marey from Simmba with its super catchy tune still features on my workout songs playlist in 2020. This versatile tune can be worked into just about any and every workout that you have in mind.

I am guilty of working out with Billie Eilish’s bad boy playing on loop. The song is so well done that it fits seamlessly into just about every workout, though I especially love to play it when I am running on the treadmill.

  • Tamma Tamma Again – Badrinath ki Dulhaniya

Another great song from way back in 2017 that deserves its place even on your 2020 workout playlist is tamma tamma again from Badrinath ki Dulhaniya. The quick-paced tune fits well when you are on your spinning bike and want to mimic a downhill or even when you’re doing a moderate uphill climb on your bike.

  • Intentions by Justin Beiber, featuring Quavo

If you thought that Justin Beiber songs were too soft to feature in hardcore workout playlists, you should have another thought coming after you listen to this song. Once again a catchy tune and hummable lyrics make this workout song a great pick for weight training sets.
